So recently President Bush has (attempted) to attack "some" people (Democrats, Senator Obama) who he claims are wishing to "appease" (talk to) Iran. When exactly did it become so horrible to engage in diplomacy, and what the hell is going on with this country that people believe war should always be our first resort?

As a funny aside, a right wing commentator who appeared on Hardball (MSNBC) last night did not, in fact, know what appeasement actually is.

Appeasement meaning giving them what they want. We don't want to do that, we want them to be a 3rd world country forevaz because they are in the Middle East (which, I heard, is dangerous).

Give them power plants? No, and if they try to do it themselves using technology that is over 50 years old we will bomb them!

I don't understand why people think that talking to your opponents is the same as surrendering to them. It's really not.

I don't know how you could be so naive, Frank. By talking with Iranians the Democrats give "comfort" to terrorists. You know, the guys who did 9/11. We're trying to fight a war here. Comforting the terrorists is just the sort of thing that kills American soldiers fighting for your freedom of speech in Iraq. So don't go abusing that hard-won freedom by saying how how surrendering to President 'I Hate Jews' Amadi Mujihadeen is in our best interests!
